Securitization Training Outline

  • First, a revision of all pre-class reading material list, including handouts for each session, brochures, training survey forms, and securitized analysis report templates that will be worked on in each session.
  • will be purchased by CFLA for usage in the class.
  • CFLA will provide an electronic securitized analysis report template for each student.
  • Overhead projector and PowerPoint type presentation slide show sequence. Including the live video of the Massachusetts Supreme Court hearing.
  • Important to "define" the purpose of the investigation of the mortgage background to determine whether securitization has been followed by the terms of the PSA/prospectus.
  • Divide sessions into SIX (6) segments for the first day which model the six sections of the SAR.
  • At the end of the first day, the student will take home a securitized analysis report assignment to prepare using a CFLA template.
  • On the second day instructors will provide video education to all students while separately meeting with each student to review the securitized analysis report prepared by the student and answer individual questions.
  • On the last half of the second day the student will prepare a securitized analysis report in class as a practical examination to be certified by CFLA.


Mortgage Securitization Analyst Online Training Certification


Day 1

  • Introductions: CFLA, Instructor
  • Objectives for Course: Introductory course to mortgage securitization and the securitization audit process. Course provides industry recognized certification as a Mortgage Securitization Analyst. Student will be able to perform audits where the name of the loan trust is known or obtainable from title records.
  • MARS act and state law (e.g. California State Assembly Bill No. 2325) re. Mortgage Foreclosure Consultants: loan audits
  • Real Estate Acquisition, the Mortgage Process, Essentials of Securitization, Loan Servicing and Foreclosure
  • Walk-through of a level 2 audit (findings in county records or ABSNet; no Bloomberg screens), Case #1
  • Homework: Prepare Case #2, review reading list
  • Q&A


3 Hours

  • Looking up a loan: Fannie Mae; Freddie Mac; MERS; ABSNet; County records
  • Case #2
    • Gathering of documents
    • Review of CFLA loan audit template for Level 2 audits — discussion of each major section
    • Discussion of the transaction parties to a loan securitization
    • The role of the SEC, investors and reviewing SEC documents
  • Report preparation standards / code of ethics
  • Homework: Case #3 email to instructor prior to next class
  • 4 Hour Instructional DVD provided to all Students to watch overnight

Day 2
