Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac said Thursday they would temporarily suspend foreclosure-related evictions from Dec. 18 through Jan. 3.
The two-week suspension applies to all foreclosed single-family homes and two- to four-unit properties with mortgages owned or guaranteed by either agency.
However, the suspension will not affect other activities related to the foreclosure process. Legal and administrative proceedings will continue during the moratorium that would lead to evictions scheduled after Jan. 3.
